ND filter. Preview

Going ahead with reviews we have finally received ND filter. It’s not tested yet but I would try to show you my very first lookup. ND filter As discussed in the previous post, it is an alternative complement to sports cameras, different from the UV filter. Remembering UV one, it doesn't affect the images or logs at all, but I have noticed it's very useful in protection performance. ND filter,  instead , set some slight changes to video records. Protection performance is the same as UV, but introducing some improvements, such as jelly effect narrowing, for example. As is known, jelly effect is the feeling of keeping the trembling in the video recordings. First lookup Contrast inbetween is very evident in first view after checking these filters (ND and UV), due ND filter present a smoked plastic cover while UV it’s totally transparent. ND filter (left) vs UV filter (right) Manufacturing instead it’s almost the same. Both filters are almost twins...

Sports Cam & UV filter

I would like to analyse this little UV filter to begin with reviewing section. This one is one dedicated to Sports cameras, as SJ4000 or similar. It's a small and low cost UV filter, easy to plug in with a little inside gummy ring. Crystal quality, obviously is not so good in order it is a very cheap spare part. Anyway, it doesn’t affects to camera lens view. UV filter & W9 sports cam Stronger enough to endure with regular impacts of the quads, may bear also with a couple of hard shocks (Fortunately, I have not tested yet). Then, probably you should change it, but your lens would be protected so far, for sure. Furthermore, if you are thinking in use it far from drone activity, be sure will be useful. It’s more discreet way to protect your camera lens from dirty particles than waterproof case usually are included in cameras packs, as could happens in locations as beaches.  Functionality Keeping in mind main functionality is UV rays filtration in you...

RCX ZMR 1804 2400KV Brushless Motors

To my first review it’s fair to beggin with the very first motor that I use in my first DIY drone, RCX ZMR 1804 2400KV. I set it in f250 glass fiber quad. In fist lookup RCX are small and light motors but powerfull anyway. Exactly 13.4g, so perfect to set and don’t be worried about the weight. Furthermore, it’s diameter only 23mm, 5mm in axis. Theoretically, provide 2400KV and may set with 2S (7.4V) or 3S (11.1V) batteries so discard mounting with 4S batteries, are not allowed, looking in datasheets. Package include M2 screws to fix the motors in the frame. Also, one nut per motor to set the propellers. Could be found in CW (Clock Wise) and CCW (Counter Clock Wise) but, to be honest, I have never found CW model. It’s could a problem using nut provided in the package, because tend to unscrew. Also, screws are quite short and should be re-screw almost before every flight. Both issues could be easily solved. Setting few larger M2 screws, cheap and common, let you ...

First steps. Syma X12S

As I commented in previous post, my first contact with quadcopters was accidentally. In Kings Day I received a very little toy, Syma X12S, as a gift. It was the beginning and my first steps in the hobby. Some time later, after get considerable experience and many more flights done, I must say you I began with one of most recommendable quadcopter to begin with, maybe the best. It’s obviously a quadcopter to fly inside because of his size, but I am also sure that it’s the best way to begin, flying inside. Why? You would flight in a “very controlled area” and always with a close view of the quad. Obviously, you will be crashing time after time, but these accidents will be not so severe for the little toy as in outside location would be. Currently it’s very common to find a large list of microquads close to this Syma X12S, and I pretty sure that so much of these are very good to flight, but I am talking about my experience. Trust me if I tell you that choose this quad ...

Let's go

*Firstly, I am forced to apologize for my English level. It should be better. I’m working to improve it as soon as possible. So let’s go. In the first post I am glad to tell the story about how I’m so interested about multicopters so far. Everything began time ago, January the 6th. This date match with a Spanish Christmas tradition named “día de los reyes magos” (Three Kings Day). Then I have received my first quadcopter. My first impression the little toy doesn’t made me feel so fortunately. It was a little Syma X12S, white painted. My first experiences were involved two short flights. Furthermore, my new little "friend" seemed to be damaged (it was). My first lookup made me feel that this play would be short in time. On the other hand, I had a previous related toy, a helicopter, that was boring almost from the beginning. Quadcopter seemed to be the same but ugliest one.  Flight after flight and crash after crash I began to drive it quite better. It was so e...
